Dairy Congress 2011 — the biggest event in the dairy industry of Ukraine

Topic: Destroying stereotypes together reach world level results

An important event consolidated both producers and processors of milk for the first time in Ukrainian history. It has happenedduring a unique meeting in dairy industry - The IV Ukrainian Dairy Congress.

The Ukrainian House held more than 600 participants, 385 of them - owners, managers and the specialists of 165 leading dairy farm enterprises, 35 - representatives of 17 milk processing enterprises, 130 - representatives of commercial companies — leaders of global and Ukrainian markets, as well as industry associations, financial institutions, embassies and information agencies.

The Congress was visited by Ltd «Ukrainian dairy company», Ltd «Agrofirma «Kyivska», PE «Agroecology», JSC «Agro-Soyuz», AE «Rzhavchyk», Ltd «Krokukrzalizbud», AE «Breeding Plant, PJSC " Breeding Plant „Agro-Region“, Ltd " PK „ZoriaPodillia“, Ltd „Vostokagro“, Ltd Ukragrokom», Ltd «Agrikor Holding», AE «Piskivske», Ltd «Promin-Pryvat», Ltd «Promin», AE «Yerchyky», AE «Illich-Agro Donbass», Ltd «Podilsky hospodar», PE «Ahrokompaniya», OJSC «Plemzavod «Styepnoy», FE «Nina», PAE «Rodina», PAE «Pleshkani», Ltd «Trade House «Dolynske» and others.

The Congress had 5 sections devoted to the dairy business analytics, management and finance, technology of milk production, secrets of successful dairy farms. Furthermore, VIP-seminar for processing industry «Resource Opportunities of development of diary farms» was held.

It would be better to change «Ukrainian» to «International» in the name of The Congress as the dairy business representatives of more than 20 countries took part in it. By the way, Russian delegation was one them.

A distinctive feature of The IV Ukrainian Dairy Congress was the Awards of dairy industry leaders in seven categories. The Expert Council of Organizing Committee and a number of leading experts were unanimous in identifying the winners among the farms — dairy producers of Ukraine. Awards were received by the following enterprises: Ltd «Ukrainian dairy company», JSC «Agro-Soyuz», PAE «Rodina», Ltd «Agrofirma «Mayak», Ltd «Promin», AE «Piskivske», Ltd «Agroproduct».

We can’t ignore the tasting of dairy products that was held during The Congress. Everybody had the opportunity to taste the dairy products of JSC «Vimbildan», Ltd «Favor», JSC «Shostkinskymiskmolcombinat», JSC «Ternopil Dairy Plant» and JSC «MolochnyiAliyans».

A celebratory banquet became a beautiful conclusion of the first day of The Congress. The participants were able to relax and to chat in a comfortable atmosphere.

The next day all invited guests consolidated the theoretical knowledge on practice by visiting the farms which achieved the significant results through the use of internal reserves of farms and better production organization (Ltd «Agrofirma «Mayak and Ltd «im. Shevchenka»).

In general, The IV Ukrainian Dairy Congress was held in the atmosphere of understanding that today we have only one way out — the introduction of modern technology and establishment of association to advocate producer's interests.

«Congress sized to expectations. Organization of event was on a high level. Guests and speakers were the best one! Despite the fact I couldn’t stay till the end, I liked the Congress. All the speakers were super, so I have nothing to complain about. The strongest impression made the team of the specialists from «Agrofirma «Trio», LTD, Russia.

«It’s very good that such event took place in milk production. Unfortunately, I didn’t take part in Congress 2010. For swine breeding such meetings has become more common. I know it from own experience. But for diary sector it’s a progress! Everything was positively, emotionally. The most telling was Elman Orudzhov’s report. Gennadiy Bondarenko’s information about the ways of increasing fat and protein content in milk has sticked in memory. I liked Oleksiy Oliynyk ’s review (interesting reported information). The only disadvantage was a little time for reports. It is important, because we can’t hear such unique information every day. Foreign specialists’ consultations are necessary too. But it’s should be more time for it as the listeners have to adapt, to get used. As for me, foreign lectors’ reports were more useful for managers, Russian specialists — for vets and technicians».

«I’m satisfied with visiting the Congress. We have heard new noteworthy information. Now we expect to use it as soon as possible in practice. At present we are studying the market to build state-of-the-art diary farm during a few years. That’s why on the next Congress we would like to hear fundamental reports about real ways of building diary farms. It means the advices about suppliers, equipment, stock, investors, credits (both national and foreign). I enjoyed reports of Elman Orudzov, Yevhenia Uvarkina and representatives of Russian delegation. Oleksiy Vasylchenko’s speech was informative („Mayak“). He staightly told how they step by step approximated to profitable diary production. Andriy Dykun and Vadym Chagarovskyy’s speeches were really profound. It’s a pitty I didn’t hear the whole report of Lilia Ivanholu. I think it was very interesting».
