III Ukrainian Dairy Congress

Event that has changed perception and attitude to milk production

Since 2008, a common goal — the development of dairy industry in Ukraine — has united industry professionals at the national dairy congresses each year.

This year, the hall of the Ukrainian House in Khreschatyk, Kyiv, was overcrowded. The congress was attended by 550 industry professionals: 340 of them were directors, managers and specialists from 152 leading dairy farms, over 90 were representatives of commercial companies — leaders in world and Ukrainian markets, the rest of the participants were representatives of processing companies, financial institutions, embassies and news agencies.

The congress subject «Ukrainian Dairy Business. Success in spite of Crisis» fully reflected the trends in the development dairy production in our country.

With the support of the Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine (АВМ), the congress managed to gather the professionals of the industry under one roof as well as unite like-minded people.

One of the distinctive features of Ukrainian Dairy Congress-2010 is that milk processing companies joined the event. They took an active part in the congress and even brought their products for tasting. Vadim Chaharovskii, the President of the Association of Milk Processors, presented general overview of dairy industry in Ukraine and prospects for future. The main conclusion is that milk producers and processors should work together, because they are the integral parts of the whole.

Leading experts from Ukraine and abroad were invited to speak at the congress. The audience highly appreciated presentations of dairy consultants and experts such as Elman Orudzhov, Jan Bakker, Andrew Dykun, Serhii Nalyvka, Johann Tattsber, Helen Elizabeth Warren, Heiko Kornahrens, Johann Hausler, Mykhailo Bilokin, Hennadii Bondarenko, Olexii Oleinik.

During the meeting «Club 9000» directors of leading milk producing companies of Ukraine shared the experience and secrets of successful milk business, among them: Serhii Bykov («Ukrainian Milk Company» Ltd), Oleh Shyshkunov («Rodina») and Valerii Kolosha («Piskivske»).

All guests and participants of the event got convinced that Ukraine is among the potential world leaders in milk production. We have all conditions for successful dairy business — hardworking people, fertile black soil and favorable climatic conditions.
The day passed as one minute. People were a little bit tired but happy. Day 2 was devoted to technical visits to «Ukrainian Milk Company» Ltd (Kiev region) and Private Agricultural Company «Piskivske» (Chernihiv region).

III Ukrainian Dairy Congress gave much more than information. In Ukraine, there are a lot of people who care about dairy production, they are united and ready to work together to achieve the common goal — to light the star of Ukraine on the global horizon of dairy production.
